National Day Holiday

National day falls on the 9th of august.

This year 2007, Singapore celebrates its 42nd Birthday as Singapore gained Independence from Malaysia on 9 August 1965.
Our 1st National Day Parade, during 1966 was held at the Padang, there were no such thing as tickets issued for the National Day Parade so if you wish to view the parade, you might have to be there as early as 7am.

During national day this year, i did not attend to the parade which was held marina bay.

We had no school from wednesday till sunday, which was considered quite a long holiday for us.

I did not made use of this holiday which was supposed to catch up on my studies, instead i went to played and wasted the whole week. During the long holiday, i went over to my friends place almost everday, and did not really did anything much. After this long holiday, i decided to spend more time and concentrate more on my studies.

Entry No.2

National Day Celebration/Green carnival

The school has put up a national day celebration programme for us.
There was a marching parade which was put up by the uniform-group students in the morning.
There was also a dancing performance put up by some of our students, their performance is very interesting.
There is also a presentation about the green carnival which mainly emphasize on the 3r.
Reduce, reuse and recycle.
After all the performances, it is finally our turn.
We went to the canteen to set up our stall.
We displayed our goods and labed the pricing of each and every item,
we also decorated our white board which was placed there for us to use,
making it as attractive as possible to our students so that they will be attracted to our stall.
In this project, we got to play different roles. Such as, there was a treasurer, few as people as logistics, few who was in charge of maintaining the stall.
I felt that we could learn from this project as we can understand the difficulty and the responsibility of maintaining a stall. We also learnt how to deal with problematic customers. Therefore, i felt that although we did not hit our target. The whole project is a success.
After the jumbo sale, we went back to the hall for debrief and we went home, as that day is a half-day.

Entry No.1

Our class jumbo sale preparations

Our class came up with a jumbo sale to raise funds for our school.
We mainly sold the used items which came from our teachers and our students.
Our items consists of used walkman, used antiques, cd and many other items.
We collected used newspapers and sold to the used-goods collector.
We came up with a powerpoint and presented it to the principle, vice-principle and the teachers. We promised them with a target of $300 in total, and strive to work hard to our target.
We made use with alot of our school periods to do researches , and did discussions. And we even made extra effort to stay back after school to complete the entire project. I felt that we could learn accounting and presentation skills from this project. Therefore, i find that we had learnt some skills from this jumbo sale exercise.
